New Leaf's mission is to empower youth through yoga. They work with young men and women who are creating positive change in their lives, overcoming histories of abuse, neglect, incarceration, gang-involvement, addiction, and marginalization.
We see a bright future in youth, and aspire to support & encourage young people to realize their potential by recognizing the resources that they hold within themselves.
It takes peaceful individuals to build peaceful communities, and we believe that when youth create & experience a sense of inner peace, they will contribute to creating a more peaceful world.
This video is a tribute to my Sangha, my community, at Moksha Yoga Burnaby and Moksha Yoga Vancouver. After all is said and done, the essence of this community can be summed up in two words: SWEATY HUGS. That's really what it's all about.
Spiritual leader Thich Nhat Hanh said:
"A Sangha is our refuge. Taking refuge in the Sangha is not a matter of faith, or belief; it is a matter of practice. Talk to your child, your companion, and your friends about the necessity of having a Sangha. If you have a Sangha, you are safe. You can nourish your home and protect yourself. You can enlarge your home all the time to include the clouds, the trees, and the walking meditation path. As you have learned, everything belongs to our home, everything belongs to our Sangha."
I couldn't agree more. Thank you for being with me on this journey. Peace, love and joy to you all!
