Laura began her love affair with movement beginning with dance which she continued for 12 years before adventuring into multiple different sport teams throughout High School and finally settling into Rugby in University. A concussion on the pitch however took her off the field and onto a yoga mat.
Laura began practicing at the Yoga Pod in North Vancouver and has since enjoyed classes in Calgary, Nova Scotia, and even Portland OR. She found Moksha yoga here in Nanaimo and made it a point to visit every time she visited the Island. Joining the Moksha team as an energy exchanger in the summer 2013, and receptionist that fall, Laura found a new connection to her practice and completed her teacher training in Los Angeles CA February 2014.
Yoga was and is a valuable healing tool for Laura, and she is continuing to discover the importance of mindfulness, breath, and awareness both on and off the mat. Curiosity, play, gratitude, and live to learn are key to Laura in her life and her yoga practice; the 7 pillars of Moksha have inspired these even more and it is a foundation she continues to fall more in love with. Laura looks forward to continuing to learn and grow in her practice with the students, new and seasoned, and use her own experiences in her teaching, and enrich her learning curve.
